Man with gray hair wearing a blue shirt and dark blazer, smiling slightly against a neutral background.

I have 30 years of experience in social entrepreneurship, executive coaching, strategy development, leadership training, program development and evaluation, philanthropy and venture capital.

My goal is to help non-profits, start-ups, social enterprises, foundations and public benefit organizations deliver on their promise to customers, funders, members, investors, clients, grantees and donors. This includes executive coaching for executive directors and senior leaders, program planning, leadership training, evaluation and facilitation, and board development.
I am a partner at the Batchery, a Berkeley-based startup incubator, where I lead their leadership development program and coach the startup founders. I also serve on the Board of Directors of Mother Jones (the Institute for National Progress), the Rainforest Action Network and the Story of Stuff Project.
